About the Chef
Matt Degelman (aka Chef Degs) moved to Pagosa twelve years ago; lured by snowboarding, but staying because of the amazing community. Matt was first introduced to cooking through his mom at age 14, and is still passionate about it today. Graduating with honors, he received his degree from Southern California School of Culinary Arts (SCSCA) Le Cordon Bleu Program.
Since graduation, Matt has worked in a variety of sophisticated restaurants. He had the opportunity to see two professional kitchens and restaurants to fruition; both being enormously successful. Starting in 2006, Matt opened Degelman's Classic Catering, providing intimate to extravagant fare for numerous gatherings, weddings, and parties. Matt's menus range from casual to elegant, but always focus on flavor and fun using fresh, innovative ingredients.
In addition to his amazing catering service, Matt also opened Degelman's Red Wagon Grill, at the corner of North Pagosa Blvd., and Highway 160, in Pagosa Springs, serving a simple, bright menu for breakfast and lunch.
